Targu Mures is not just another city in Transylvania, is exactly in the “heart” of Transylvania.
If you are chasing History there is a Medieval Fortress in the town centre re-built in the 17th century after the original one (built in the 15th century) was destroyed during an invasion in 1601.
Targu Mures is a city for everyone, mostly known for Schools, Hospital, very good doctors and exceptional Private Dentists Cabinets. Some private Dentists even offer packages for “medical tourism”, you come to Targu Mures to fix your teeth and meanwhile you visit Transilvanya as well. Many people from abroad will choose to do this as Romanian Dentist are very good and cheap if we have a look at prices in some of the western countries.
City Centre is rich in history and architectural buildings, Cultural Palace built between 1911 and 1913 is a remarkable construction. The Teleki-Bolyai Library, founded by Count Sámuel Teleki in 1802, is a historic public library and now a museum in the town. Many of the volumes it houses are rarities, including a copy of the Declaration of Independence of USA.
Targu Mures is just a short drive away from Sighisoara, Dracula’s place of Birth. Also there is a small International Airport in town so you can fly directly from London, Rome and other European destinations.
