This place exists and it’s located in Transylvania. Sighisoara town is one of the best preserved and most beautiful medieval towns in Europe. The Historic Centre of Sighisoara through its architectural and urban monuments, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Note this on your list with medieval town names and come to visit it.
Sighisoara's citadel was built in the 12th century and further in the 15th century was extended and consolidated. This is the only lived in Citadel in Europe, people own houses and live inside surrounding walls of the Citadel.
The most controvertible character of Romanian history Vlad Dracul, nicknamed “Vlad the Impaler” or “Dracula”, was born in Sighisoara's citadel. His house is just one of the many tourist attractions here. Another iconic attraction is the Clock Tower which operated the main gate into the citadel and hold Citadel’s treasures in the past.
A walk through Sighisoara's captivating citadel with original medieval architecture, towers, turrets and cobbled alleys is like stepping back in time. And if you feel like living the experience to the maximum try visit during annual Medieval Festival which is held every July.
